Rockabye Baby, But Make It Darker
Rock-a-bye, baby
On the treetop
When the wind blows
Your cradle will rock
And when the bough breaks
The cradle will fall
And no one will be there to catch you at all
The baby is drowsing
Cozy and fair
Mother sits near
In her rocking chair
And though the chair moves forward and back
Mama’s body lies there cold and slack
Hush a bye baby
Make no sound
For outside the garden walls
The demons prowl
And if they hear as much as a cry
There won’t be any time to say goodbye
